A Painful Sunday

I hate hospitals.
I hate the smell of it.
I hate being around people in pain-its a torture place for me.

The past few days, I have been nursing this back pain that just won't go away.
I've been in so much discomfort-stabbing pain on my back.
I took the usual pain relievers-but the relief was short-lived.
So I had no choice but to go to the hospital and have myself cleared.

It was a painful Sunday literally and figuratively.
G told me that he'll be with me.
Ofcourse, he's good in making promises.  And his promises are often wordy.
As usual, words are words-it ended there. Painful as it is. That's him.
My Persian friend was so nice to even ask me if he can go with me in the hospital. I said yes.
But when Sunday came, and the pain was just too much.. I decided to just go on my own.

I went to Makati Medical Center, I was born here. Nice memories.

I went to the ER. It was a breeze. The nurse saw my discomfort and immediately made me lie down on a bed. The feeling of 'rushing yourself' to the ER is weird. Mixed feelings.
Painful because G gave me his word and he fucked up again. Painful because well..my back was really painful.

And so I was wheeled around for some test, I also had a back x-ray done, and since it was a Sunday-no consultants to read it. The resident doctor gave me Valiums (injection) and pain reliever (injection)..which made me drowsy.

I kept on telling the nurse to use a butterfly needle but she said they don't use it there. I said in Asian Hospital-they usually use butterfly on me, and the nurse repeatedly said that they really don't use it there. The result was 5 fuckin attempts to shoot the needle on my vein.. and the last one was a flop because it caused a 'bubble' because the vein collapsed. Grrrr..
I think the nurse was nervous so she called on to the doctor to do it instead. Thank you doctor. The injected medicines were painful and thick.. thus, I seriously cried while holding on my sheet. (Yes, it was a baby thing to do, but my pain tolerance just went down. It fuckin hurt.) The doctor was nice and patient-even rubbed my arm for comfort. Then I fell asleep.

Clear results will be out this week.
Initial diagnosis shows that I don't have broken or injured bones.
Something with my back muscles..which I have to meet a consultant to clear that out.
I'm still drinking my medicine.
I'm following the prescription.
I'm still drowsy.

So whats the lesson here...
I can depend on myself.
I don't need G.
I will be okay.

Random Weekend Thoughts

  • Valentines is fast approaching. As much as I want to say that I don't celebrate that Hallmark-Invented-Day, I'm such a sucker for sweetness. I want that Valentine mode for myself. What to do? Where to go on a solo-mode?

  • I'm seriously thinking of having my own domain-I'm starting to get annoyed with blogspot. I am still at the point of planning the layout, the name and the feel of the new site...but I'm getting there. The question is, will all of you still follow me? I seriously hope so.

  • I just went back to Belo for a glycopeel facial and I bought my usual facial kit. Their products seriously work for me. For those who want to change their dermatologist or would like to start having a doctor for their skin (for vanity or for health reasons)...just leave me a message and I'll endorse you to my doctor. She's really good and her prescription worked wonders for me. We all deserve to feel and look fab.

  • Sunday 6:00PM-12:00Midnight is my study mode zone. I realized that there's so much to learn with my work and since I am aiming to be a superstar there (hihi), I really need to push myself more. As recommended by my boss, I should allot time to study and take initiative to learn more. Thus, NERD mode every Sunday works for me.

Lessons Learned By A Hopeless Romantic..v1

I have always been the romantic one.
I never play around with emotions and its very seldom for me to fall inlove with someone.
But when I do..  I'm the hopeless romantic kinda girl..
Most of the times, I end up getting hurt.

So here are few lessons coming from my broken heart and I pray that I will find strength to learn from my mistakes and come out as a wiser and stronger woman.
  • Honesty has to be the basis of everything.
  • Guard your heart and be careful with where you place your trust or how you are drawn into a persons life.
  • Words are just words.
  • Action reveals what a person truly believes and exposes their character.
  • It's easy to say the 5 letter word "Sorry".
  • It's also easy to say the 3 words "I love you".
  • Trust God and believe that He has an amazing plan for you. Learn to let go.
  • In happiness or in despair, never compromise your values.
  • Keep some pride and love for yourself.
  • Plant your own garden rather than waiting for someone to give you flowers..do things to nourish your soul.

Mr. Big

You ever had your version of Mr. Big?
I think I do.

Carrie: You do this every time! *Every* time! What? Do you have some sort of radar? Carrie might be happy - it's time to sweep in and shit all over it?
Big: What? No, no, I came here to tell you something. I made a mistake. You and I...
Carrie: You and I - *nothing*! You can not do this to me again! You can not jerk me around!
Big: Carrie, listen to me. It is different this time...
Carrie: Oh, it's never different! It's six years of *never* being different! This is it! I am done! Don't call me ever again! Forget you know my number! In fact, forget you know my name! And you can drive up this street all you want - because I don't live here any more!

Never Meant To Be

I used to connect events.
I always thought that there is no such thing as "coincidence" in this life.
That everything was bound to happen..and that things are meant to be.
Serendipity.

That's what I thought.
But I know better now.
It was never meant to be.
It was a mistake.
A lesson that I should have learned  from a different scenario.

I'm accepting it already. We were never meant to be.
